KAI Launches the Ukraine Innovation and Engineering Lab with MIT
National University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” (KAI) is launching the Ukraine Innovation and Engineering Lab together with MIT — Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the world’s leading technological universities and #1 in the QS World University Rankings 2026–2027.
Over 10 weeks, participants will go from a real engineering challenge to a working prototype.
What participants will experience:
- Work in KAI laboratories supported by Ajax, Vodafone, Huawei and other university engineering and research labs
- MIT engineering methodology
- Mentorship from industry experts, MIT lecturers and KAI practitioners
- Real technical cases from partner companies
- Interdisciplinary teams
- Development and testing of their own prototype
- Final presentation of solutions at Demo Day

The program is open to senior bachelor’s and master’s students in technical fields, as well as participants with experience in engineering, AI, robotics, electronics and software development.
And the best part — you don’t have to be a KAI student. The program is open to students from other Ukrainian universities.
