🌍 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Expands International Cooperation in Humanitarian Demining
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute welcomed representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Paul Heslop, Senior Mine Action Adviser at the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Ukraine, and experts from Praedium Consulting Malta (PCM) and MAT Kosovo (Kosovo Mine Action Training Centre).
The meeting focused on international cooperation in humanitarian demining, including the development of joint projects, training specialists according to IMAS (International Mine Action Standards), and attracting global support to strengthen Ukraine’s mine action capabilities.
During the meeting, KPI presented two major initiatives: the establishment of an International Training Centre for Mine Safety and Humanitarian Demining and the Safety Hub concept—a modern educational network designed to prepare students and educators for national resilience, emergency response, and wartime challenges.
These initiatives will strengthen practical education, expand international cooperation, and support the development of Ukraine’s national humanitarian demining system.
For international students, initiatives like these demonstrate that Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is not only a leading technical university but also an active contributor to solving global humanitarian challenges through education, innovation, and international partnerships.
