Students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Take Part in an International Engineering Summer School in Germany 🇩🇪
For the third consecutive year, students of the Department of Power Supply at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (ESI ESEM) of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute have received scholarships from Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences to participate in the two-week Summer School “The Business of German Engineering.”
This year, the Summer School was attended by Bachelor’s student Yelyzaveta Pomyluyko (group GN-31) and Master’s student Andrii Kozhukhar (group GN-51mn).
The Summer School introduces students to the distinctive features of German engineering education, modern technologies and innovations, as well as university cooperation with industrial companies in the region. The program combines academic lectures, practical sessions and visits to leading technology companies, including SMA Solar Technology, Wilo Group, ELMOS Semiconductor, G.A.S. Dortmund, SCHMITZ medical GmbH and WAGO Electronics.
During these visits, participants explored innovative solutions in energy, automation, microelectronics and biomedical engineering.
An important part of the Summer School is its cultural program. Students visited Hamm, Lippstadt, Münster, Bonn, Bochum and Dortmund, as well as the Computer Museum in Paderborn, gaining a deeper understanding of Germany’s history, culture and industrial heritage.
The participants emphasized that the program provided not only valuable professional knowledge but also meaningful international experience.
Yelyzaveta Pomyluyko:
“The most valuable part for me was communicating with international students from different countries. It helped me improve my English, exchange experiences and make new friends. Participating in the Summer School was an important professional and personal experience and motivated me to continue developing in the field of energy.”
Andrii Kozhukhar particularly highlighted the high academic level of the program, the variety of companies visited and the atmosphere of international cooperation:
“What impressed me most was that the program combined modern engineering knowledge, visits to leading companies and communication with participants from 14 different parts of the world. This trip gave me not only new knowledge, but also friendships and memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.”
We sincerely congratulate our students on their successful participation in this international Summer School and thank Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences for its cooperation and support of student academic mobility.
Participation in international programs like this opens new opportunities for professional development, exposure to advanced engineering practices, international academic networking and preparation for successful careers in a global professional environment.
