Applications Open for Ukraine–Switzerland Recovery and Reconstruction Projects

ETH Zurich, in partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), has opened applications for joint Ukrainian–Swiss projects.

The grant initiative creates new opportunities for Ukrainian researchers, professionals, and institutions working on the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.

📅 Application deadline: November 15, 2026

Launched by ETH4D (ETH for Development) at ETH Zurich in partnership with SECO, the Innovate Cities & Infrastructure programme supports projects focused on Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.

Funding may support projects focused on:

• resilient public infrastructure and modernization of public services;
• humanitarian response, demining, and reintegration;
• economic recovery, innovation, and private-sector development;
• skills and expertise development for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Funding Opportunities

1. Urban Research Grants
Up to CHF 350,000 for large-scale applied research projects in sustainable urban development and resilient infrastructure.

2. Urban Pilot Grants
Up to CHF 30,000 for pilot studies, feasibility assessments, and partnerships between Swiss researchers and local implementation partners, including in Ukraine.

Projects will be selected through an open call for proposals. Each project must be implemented by a consortium including researchers from ETH Zurich and partners from eligible countries.
