🎓 International Academic Exchange at Bogomolets National Medical University
NMU students took part in the international academic exchange program “Preventive Medicine Summer School” at the Medical University of Warsaw.
Students from the Educational and Research Institutes of Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, as well as the Faculty of Pediatrics of Bogomolets National Medical University, participated in this international program.
The educational component included a two-week intensive offline program focused on key public health issues, including infectious diseases, nutrition, disaster medicine and professional clinical communication.
The learning process was highly interactive. Students worked with simulation scenarios, took part in clinical case activities, and developed and presented comprehensive projects on medical care during emergencies and disasters.
Particular attention was given to practical experience in multidisciplinary teams based on the Skill-Mix model, including prevention of comorbid conditions, obesity management, cardiovascular risk assessment using the modern SCORE2 algorithm, and effective interprofessional cooperation in medical rehabilitation.
Participants also gained advanced competencies in digital medicine and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, explored behavioral medicine approaches, and studied the latest international clinical guidelines, including ESC/EAS 2025 and EAT-Lancet 2025.
As part of the program, representatives of NMU student self-government established professional connections with international colleagues from the Medical University of Warsaw (Poland), the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Latvia, and the Medical University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria), creating a strong foundation for future joint projects.
The experience, practical skills and international academic connections gained through the program will contribute to the implementation of European standards in Ukraine’s healthcare system and strengthen NMU students’ integration into the global academic and scientific community.
