Odessa National Medical University
Odessa National Medical University is a distinguished government institution located in the city of Odessa, Ukraine. With 58 faculties, the university accommodates over six thousand students, including a diverse group of foreign students from various countries. The medium of instruction is available in Russian, Ukrainian, and English languages.
The university encompasses 100 clinical departments, spread across 63 medical and prophylactic institutions in Odessa. Each department has its dedicated internet site containing essential methodological materials in Ukrainian, Russian, and English. The university’s library has developed an electronic catalog with over 700 thousand titles of books and journals, along with an electronic collection of course books, all accessible online.
For effective and continuous professional development, the university has established a Center of Distance Education. The campus provides optimal conditions for students’ active leisure, featuring six sports halls for various activities, including sports games, table tennis, aerobics, rhythmic gymnastics, shaping-up, gym, and a track-and-field hall. Sport groups cover a range of activities such as athletics, basketball, handball, tennis, power-lifting, weight sports, swimming, fencing, indoor soccer, judo, sambo, and chess. Hostels are equipped with sports grounds and gyms.
Situated on the Black Sea coast in Lustdorf, the students’ sports and fitness complex adds to the recreational amenities. Additionally, the university hosts the “VITA” center for students’ creative work, with thirty active creative groups in various genres, including vocal studio “Harmony,” the band of modern and variety dancing “Exprompt,” the band of folk singing and dancing, among others, involving around 250 students. The university’s five hostels provide accommodation for 2500 students.
